HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS: 2021 - The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns in game 6 of the NBA Finals, making it their first NBA championship since 1971. Awesome. 2017 – O. J. Simpson was granted parole after serving nine years of a 33-year sentence after being convicted of armed robbery in Las Vegas. Not awesome. 2015 – The United States and Cuba resumed full diplomatic relations after five decades. 2012 – A gunman opened fire in a Colorado movie theater during the opening night of The Dark Knight Rises. 12 people were killed and 70 injured. 1993 - White House deputy counsel Vince Foster was found shot to death in a park near Washington, D.C., in an apparent suicide - or the Clinton’s killed him while Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer watched and George Soros paid them all huge money for it. I forget what the conspiracy theory is. 1984 - Jim Fixx was the author of the best-selling book The Complete Book of Running. He is credited with helping start America's fitness revolution by popularizing the sport of running and demonstrating the health benefits of regular jogging. He died of a heart attack while jogging at 52 years of age. That’s funny to me. I actually started running because of that book and when Jim Fixx died - I bought a bike instead. 1977 – The Central Intelligence Agency released documents under the Freedom of Information Act revealing it had engaged in mind-control experiments. 1973 – Bruce Lee died in Los Angeles at age 32 from a brain edema possibly caused by a reaction to a prescription painkiller. 1969 – Apollo 11's crew successfully made the first manned landing on the Moon in the Sea of Tranquility. Or did they? I forget what the conspiracy theory is. 1968 – The first International Special Olympics Summer Games are held at Soldier Field in Chicago, with about 1,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities. 1944 – World War II: Adolf Hitler survived an assassination attempt led by German Army Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg.
