TRAVEL: Hiroshima
TRUMPED: Yesterday in one sentence: The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the Justice Department for all unredacted records related to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell; Ghislaine Maxwell asked a federal judge to block the Justice Department from unsealing grand jury transcripts in her sex trafficking case, saying the release would “severely and irrevocably” damage her Supreme Court appeal; Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered a grand jury investigation into Obama-era officials, reviving long-debunked claims that they faked intelligence to tie Trump to Russian election interference; Texas Sen. John Cornyn asked the FBI to help locate and arrest Democratic lawmakers who fled the state to block a Republican redistricting plan that could give the Republicans five more U.S. House seats; Trump claimed JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America refused to accept over $1 billion in deposits from him after his presidency; Trump said he would “probably not” run for a third term, even though the Constitution doesn’t allow it; and a man convicted of interstate prostitution is seeking a pardon from a man found liable for sexual abuse.

HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS: 2009 - Filmmaker John Hughes was taking a walk close to his hotel on West 55th Street in Manhattan when he suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to Roosevelt Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at age 59. 2004 - Musician Rick James was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment. He had died from pulmonary failure and cardiac failure, associated with his various health conditions of diabetes, a stroke, pacemaker, and heart attack. His autopsy found alprazolam, diazepam, bupropion, citalopram, hydrocodone, digoxin, chlorpheniramine, methamphetamine, and cocaine in his blood. 2002 - Bjorn married CJ. 2001 - The "Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US" was a President's Daily Brief prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency and given to U.S. President George W. Bush on Monday, August 6, 2001. The brief warned of terrorism threats from Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, including "patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for a hijacking" of U.S. aircraft. Bush and his minions did nothing. 36 days later were the September 11 attacks. 2001 – Erwadi fire incident: Twenty-eight mentally ill persons tied to a chain are burnt to death at a faith based institution at Erwadi, Tamil Nadu. 1996 – The Ramones played their farewell concert at The Palace in Los Angeles. 1995 - Tweedy married Susan. 1991 – Tim Berners-Lee releases files describing his idea for the World Wide Web. WWW makes its first appearance as a publicly available service on the Internet. 1965 – President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law. Which means that technically this country is only 60 years old today if you buy into the “all men are created equal - life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” bullshit. 1945 – World War II: Hiroshima, Japan is devastated when the atomic bomb "Little Boy" is dropped by the United States B-29 Enola Gay. Around 70,000 people are killed instantly, and some tens of thousands die in subsequent years from burns and radiation poisoning. America is the O.G. of terrorism. 1890 - The electric chair was used for the first time, to execute a convicted murderer in New York. This country loves to kill people.
