TRUMPED: Yesterday in one sentence: A federal judge refused to release the Jeffrey Epstein grand jury transcripts and accused the Trump administration of using the request as a “diversion”; Trump demanded that Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook resign after his housing regulator Bill Pulte accused her of mortgage fraud; Jeanine Pirro – then a Fox News host, now the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia – told RNC chair Ronna McDaniel in a 2020 text that she was working to help Trump and Republicans; more than 750 current and former Health and Human Services employees accused Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of spreading misinformation that led to the Aug. 8 mass shooting at the CDC in Atlanta; Elon Musk backed off plans to launch the “America Party,” telling allies he needed to protect his companies and his relationship with JD Vance; and Trump claimed he’s ended “six wars” – or “seven,” depending on the day – and called himself a “war hero.”
WORD: Rights - Know Your Rights! (All three of them) #1 - The right not to be killed. Murder is a crime! Unless it is done by a policeman, or an aristocrat. #2 - The right to food money, providing of course, you don't mind a little investigation, humiliation, and, if you cross your fingers, rehabilitation. #3 - The right to free speech as long as you're not dumb enough to actually try it.
WTF?!: Gavin Newsom has trolled his way to the top of social media - It’s awesome, I love it!
HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS: 2015 – Passengers on a Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris confronted and subdued an attacker who attempted a mass shooting. 1992 - An 11-day siege began at the cabin of white separatist Randy Weaver in Ruby Ridge, Idaho, as government agents tried to arrest him for failing to appear in court on charges of selling two illegal sawed-off shotguns. 1961 – Motown released what would be its first #1 hit (in America), "Please Mr. Postman" by The Marvelettes. 1961 – American country music singer Patsy Cline returned to record producer Owen Bradley's studio in Nashville to record her vocals to Willie Nelson's "Crazy." Rib pain lingering from her near fatal car accident earlier in the year had kept her vocal range stifled the week prior. This time, Cline was successful in the first take. It marked the first and last time her vocals were dubbed to the Decca Records session musicians' previously recorded instrumental track. Prior to this event, Cline had always recorded with live accompaniment. The recording of "Crazy" would become her signature song. 1959 – United States President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed an executive order proclaiming Hawaii the 50th state of the union. 1923 - In Kalamazoo, Michigan, an ordinance was passed forbidding dancers from gazing into the eyes of their partner. 1831 – Nat Turner led black slaves and free blacks in a rebellion in Southampton County, Virginia, which will claim the lives of 55 to 65 whites.
"Take your pleasure seriously." Charles Eames
