JOKE: A man walks into a pet store He tells the attendant that he is chasing something a little different, “everyone has dogs and cats and birds and fish, I want something different” The attendant says “I’ve got just the thing, here, we have a talking centipede” “Perfect says the man, that sounds great ill take one of those” He gets the centipede home and says “Mr. Centipede, would you like to go down the pub and have a couple of beers?” The man gets no response. Maybe he is a little shaken up from the ride home he thinks. I’ll give him 10 mins. and ask again. 10 mins. later the man says “Would you like head down the pub for a beer? Again no response. The man thinks to himself. I’ll give him another 15 mins. and if he doesn’t reply I’m taking him back. 15 mins. later the man says to the centipede “mate, do you want to go down the pub for a beer or not?!” The centipede replies “I’m putting my shoes on, you impatient bastard!”

SCIENCE!: During early April, the planets Venus, Mercury, Neptune, and Saturn will all be gathered above the eastern horizon before sunrise. Neptune is far too faint to compete against the morning twilight, but the other three planets will be visible, especially from tropical latitudes where the ecliptic (green line) will be closer to vertical. On the mornings surrounding Friday, April 11, find brilliant Venus and then search a bit more than a binoculars' field of view below it (orange circle) for the side-by-side pair of Mercury and Saturn. Mercury will be the slightly brighter planet to Saturn's left. On the prior few days, Saturn will be lower than Mercury. Then it will climb while Mercury descends.

TRUMPLAND: Yesterday in one sentence: The House passed a Republican bill requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, despite noncitizen voting already being illegal and extremely rare; Trump ordered federal investigations into two former officials who contradicted his false claims about the 2020 election; a judge ruled that Newsmax defamed Dominion by airing false 2020 election claims; the House passed the Republican budget plan following a conservative standoff that fell apart under pressure from Trump; Trump acknowledged his tariff policies could cause “transition problems” as markets reversed course and recession fears deepened; and two Democratic senators called for a federal investigation into possible insider trading after Trump urged investors to “buy” hours before announcing a major tariff rollback that sent markets soaring.
